Welcome to Reykjavik
Dear Colleagues,
The Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine is organising its 28th bi-Annual Congress . It will take place in Reykjavik Iceland on 29 June to 3 July 2005. This international congress is held alternatively in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland and gathers about 600 – 800 participants from about 30 countries. It will be held at the new Nordica Congress Hotel, which is situated in the heart of the city of Reykjavik .
The congress is held in English and 4-5 simultaneous sessions cover the whole spectrum of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine - from emergency medicine to chronic pain.
Wednesday June 29 is reserved for refresher courses and the following three days Thursday to Saturday for the traditional congress program with symposia, plenary lectures, interactive sessions, workshops and free paper sessions. Sunday is reserved for social activities.
In recent years Iceland has become a very popular tourist attraction for a good reason and last year it was chosen “Europe's Favorite Country” by the readers of the newspapers Guardian and the Observer. It is not easy to describe Iceland in short but it is different from anything you have ever seen before. Therefore, we like to suggest that you consider taking your family or friends along to Iceland for a holiday before or after the congress to experience the fantastic nature that we Icelanders are so proud of and our foreign visitors so thrilled about.
I look forward to seeing you in Reykjavik .
Most sincerely,
Prof. Gisli H Sigurdsson
